IDD - International Dance Day 29 April 2014



In 1982 the International Dance Committee - IDC of the ITI founded International Dance Day -
IDD - 29th of April, the birth anniversary of Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810)
acknowledged as the creator of modern ballet.

The main purpose of IDD is to celebrate Dance,
the universality of this art form,
to cross all political, cultural and ethnic barriers
to bring people together with a common language - Dance.

For the year 2014 - the 32nd International Dance Day,
the message from -  French choreographer and dancer Mourad Merzouki.

“I have, for dance, not only the pride of a dancer and choreographer, but profound gratitude.
Dance gave me my lucky break.
It has become my ethics by virtue of its discipline and provided the means through which I discover the world daily.”
